History
The venue originally gained international fame as the Robot Restaurant, a wildly popular dinner show that became one of Tokyo's most recognisable tourist attractions. Opening in 2012, Robot Restaurant was famous for its over-the-top combination of giant robots, dancers, lasers, music and extravagant costumes, drawing visitors from around the world.
Following its closure during the COVID-19 pandemic, the venue was reimagined as Samurai Restaurant Time. Rather than recreating the Robot Restaurant experience, the new production embraces Japanese history and culture through choreographed samurai battles, traditional-inspired music, dance and modern theatrical technology.
Today, Samurai Restaurant Time continues the venue's legacy as one of Kabukichō's premier live entertainment destinations, offering an immersive show that combines Japanese tradition with contemporary stage production.
