Changing lives through education, compassion and opportunity, Sonrisas en Peru helps vulnerable children and families build a brighter future through grassroots community support across Peru.
Sonrisas en Peru ("Smiles in Peru") is a registered Peruvian non-profit organisation founded by Australian Scott Jeppesen. Working closely with disadvantaged children, orphanages, schools and rural communities, the organisation provides educational resources, food, clothing and practical support to people living in some of Peru's most vulnerable regions.
Rather than focusing on large-scale aid programs, Sonrisas en Peru works directly with local communities to identify where assistance is needed most. Through donations, volunteers and fundraising initiatives, the organisation creates meaningful opportunities that improve education, wellbeing and quality of life for children and families.

👤 Scott Jeppesen
Scott Jeppesen founded Sonrisas en Peru after volunteering in Peru in 2007. While teaching near Cusco, he witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by children living in remote communities, many of whom lacked even the most basic educational resources.
Inspired by the generosity of family and friends who donated books, stationery and supplies, Scott realised that relatively small acts of kindness could have a life-changing impact. What began as a personal effort to help one community has since grown into a respected charitable organisation supporting projects across Peru.
Today, Scott continues to lead Sonrisas en Peru from Peru, working closely with schools, orphanages and local communities to ensure that support reaches those who need it most.
📚 Education
Education remains at the heart of Sonrisas en Peru's mission.

🏠 Supporting Westfalia Orphanage
